Weekday Wellness Getaway
A monthly reset for city dogs
Why this exists
For the dogs who shaped my work

I lived in Brooklyn for years with my own dogs, surrounded by my clients, my friends, and the pack we built together. These weren’t just dogs I trained — they were dogs I watched grow up, dogs I shared my bed with, dogs I spent every sunrise with for years.
Together with their humans, we formed a deeply connected, loving community. So when I moved to the mountains, the idea that took shape was simple and very personal: I wanted to find a way to keep them close.
Once a month, I bring my Brooklyn pack up here, in small, familiar groups, and give them what city life makes so difficult to offer consistently.
Quiet.
Cleaner air.
Five acres of pristine nature.
A slower rhythm.
A true reset from noise, pressure, pollutants, and constant stimulation.
At the same time, I get to see the dogs I love, spend time with them, and care for them the way I always have - as part of a pack I know deeply and love fiercely.
This is my pack. I know their histories, their sensitivities, their rhythms — all their little quirks, habits, triggers. I know who’s friends with who, who balances who, and who needs space.
I created the Weekday Getaway for them.
For the dogs who shaped my work.
For the dogs whose guardians trusted me long before this place existed.

A true nervous-system reset
Your dog’s Weekday Wellness Getaway is designed to slow down, restore balance, and return to a steadier sense of self-regulation.
Days unfold gently. Dogs explore wooded trails and open land, rest in a quiet home environment, enjoy calm, supervised small-group time with familiar companions, and decompress on the couch by the fireplace. There is space to move, and just as importantly, space to rest.
The Getaway is especially well suited for dogs who:
live full-time in the city
become easily overstimulated or emotionally charged
don’t thrive in traditional daycare settings
feel more at ease within familiar, consistent social groups
Many of the dogs who benefit most are:
sensitive
adolescent
environmentally reactive
emotionally intense
After their stay, dogs return home grounded, settled, and deeply satisfied; often noticeably calmer, with an ease that carries back into daily life.

Stability over novelty
We value relationships over rotation, and thoughtful structure in service of well-being. Each Getaway hosts no more than 3–4 dogs, depending on the pack.
Dogs are not placed into Getaways at random. Every dog is thoughtfully evaluated and assigned to one or two compatible packs based on personality, existing relationships, play style, and social preferences. Some dogs thrive only within a single, very specific group, and those dogs are given that consistency.
Even for highly social dogs, pack assignment is intentionally limited. Like people, dogs relax most fully around familiar companions, not in constantly changing groups.
Introducing a new dog into a pack requires careful reassessment of the entire group dynamic not just the relationship between the newcomer and each individual dog, but the overall equilibrium of the pack as a system.
Repeating that process too frequently takes time and energy away from what the Getaway is designed for: to allow dogs to deeply decompress, form lasting social bonds, and spend their time engaged in play, and exploration.
Eligibility & Evaluation
Because the Weekday Getaway depends on stable, well-established pack dynamics, participation is limited to dogs who have boarded with me previously.
Dogs who are new to my care are welcome to begin with a regular boarding stay on any available dates — including during a scheduled Getaway — though that stay will be treated as standard boarding rather than part of the Getaway program. For first-time boarding dogs, a $50 evaluation fee is added to allow for proper assessment in a real-world setting.
Once a dog has completed a successful boarding stay and been evaluated, they may be considered for future Weekday Getaways based on pack compatibility and availability.
This process ensures that every Getaway remains safe, balanced, and genuinely restorative for all dogs involved.
Transportation

*For regular boarding stays, additional transportation options may be available, including private transport or pickup at the Port Jervis train station, depending on availability. These options are discussed separately and are not part of the Weekday Getaway program.
Schedule:
Sunday evening pickup → Thursday evening drop-off
Transport:
For Weekday Getaways, group pickup and drop-off are included, with coordinated meeting points.
Transportation is direct, calm, and handled thoughtfully and with the same attention to safety and comfort as every other aspect of the stay.
We work with several trusted drivers for both small-group and private transportation. However, because the Weekday Getaway is a discounted, package-based program designed for recurring packs, transportation for Getaways is offered exclusively as group transport.
These groups are intentionally formed among dogs who already know one another and often live near each other. For this reason, pickups are organized near each pack’s location. At this time, our active packs are based in Williamsburg and South Williamsburg, with designated meeting points near McCarren Park or Sternberg Park, depending on the group.
Dogs travel in a professionally outfitted vehicle, riding in crash-tested kennels designed for both safety and comfort. These are not plastic airline crates stacked together, nor are they part of long, multi-stop routes. Each dog has their own secure, cozy space that allows them to settle and rest while traveling alongside familiar companions.
Unlike traditional transport setups, for both private and group rides we use single, coordinated routes only. This approach significantly reduces travel time and overstimulation while prioritizing safety and calm. There are no recurring stops, no constant door openings. Just a quiet, predictable ride designed to keep stress to a minimum. Dogs are handled exclusively by you at pick up and by Olimpia, at drop-off, ensuring continuity and familiarity throughout the journey.
All transportation details, timing, and meeting point instructions are confirmed in advance once a stay has been approved.
